"But I’m beginning to understand that life isn’t about finding neat resolutions. The knots, the broken strands, the threads that never quite fit—they are not mistakes; they are the design." Beautiful!
Love this. Especially your elegant way of articulating real life vs. the fictional heroine's journey. Sometime accepting ourselves and all our messiness is the best way that we can do life. Many of the protagonists in my WIP novels have messy lives - like mine. They haven't been published because they just don't fit into the norm.

Your writings really resonate with me at this time in my life. My husband died suddenly 7 years ago. We had an amazing life of fun, work, adventure, disagreements ;) & love. I lived in our home for 4 more years, which was tough because we renovated every square inch of it together. Then I moved to another state, and rented, to be close to family. Not feeling settled or "whole" (even though I love my family peeps) I ditched the rental, put everything in storage, stayed in my families & friends homes and traveled extensively for this past year. All of that time complemented my need to feel free and let the world swirl around me, and maybe it would show me an answer to my next step. Guess what? I am still swirling. It's a comfort to hear of your lifetime moves, Maureen, impulsive or not. I like to think that even when I don't make sense to myself I will let myself feel and learn from my experience. Or, as you comfortably put it, "The denouement perhaps, isn't the place where everything finally makes sense. It's the moment when you realize that it doesn't need to."
I feel for you Lisa 🫶🏻 it can be hard to be in the liminal space of waiting for something to land - waiting for what feels like the next right chapter in the story of you. You are not alone. 🫶🏻
Amen!

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this authenticity!
Thanks Audra - it’s SO vulnerable to share our misadventures- I’d like to think we all have them though and shame lies in the shadows.
Indeed and the only way I've found to transmute this is to bring the shadow to light. But it's SO much work 😩 🪄
Fabulous writing and personal perspective shared, Maureen! Well, WELL done! I will be sharing with some who travel with me in spirit.
Thanks Michele 🙏🏻 now let’s hope the heroine gets a happy ending right?!? 😂
