I am so, so sorry, Maureen. How very painful and what a shock. I have been at that corner many times. Random violence is so hard. So are racial attacks. Let's work hard for a better more inclusive and gun violence-free future.

Thanks Anne 🙏🏻 Yes apparently it was all over the Seattle news but of course being in Portugal I never saw it. It is still the most amazing sushi if you’re ever in Bell town - I will have to contain my grief and continue to eat there when I’m in town to support Evan.

Maureen, I am so sorry for the loss you and your friends suffered and continue to suffer. I often think about how violent the U.S. has become, and why oh why such weapons are allowed in our country. Such acts of violence are followed with language of "thoughts and prayers," but no action to actually fix the problem. Thank you for sharing this story; I know it had to be difficult to write.

So very hard. Thank you for the moving share. May you not suffer more than is necessary. May her husband and family never suffer again.

Thanks Damon. Not easy to write. Not easy to read. Not easy to live. Sometimes life seems unnecessarily cruel.

Life doesn't always play fair.

It has a mind of it's own and does what it damn well wants to..

I'm sorry your friend is gone.

Its okay to cry and rage and the unjustness of it all. Get it out.

Then, have a drink to good memories.

Smile and find warmth again.

And send your friend off in your own good way.

Sending good vibes your way. X
