Such acts of violence are followed with language of "thoughts and prayers," but no action to actually fix the problem. Thank you for sharing this story; I know it had to be difficult to write.

Its okay to cry and rage and the unjustness of it all. Get it out.
Then, have a drink to good memories.
Smile and find warmth again.
