There is something very interesting about the picture of Buddha with head in lap. He looks completely at ease and natural. At first glance, nothing seems unusual or out of place. Your message of, 'even-if-things-go-differently-than-planned-life-can-still-be-good' translates even through your art. You are a mage. Beautifully written. Soul soothing ~~

I once had a Buddha statue that I purchased shortly after my mother died. Then a few years later its head fell off. I said it was practicing non attachment. Mine was not as beautiful as yours so I replaced it with a sturdier one but it always reminds me of the both… and in sorrow and grief sometimes accompanied by crazy laughter.

I love that Paula and yes every time I see my Buddha holding its bloody head in its lap I laugh at life and at my desire to always try to fix things 🤦🏻‍♀️

Cat that was my office and pillow-buddy recently died. In the midst of an unexpected divorce after 24 years (probably made worse by the fact that no one did anything "wrong"). She is probably taking the dog.

I just made that Buddha picture the wallpaper on my phone as a reminder....change is ok. Change is inevitable. After the dark comes the light, from the pain the joy, etc. Very timely writing this week.

Thank you! If nothing else, it's always good to hear that I'm not the only one...especially when life feels so suddenly lonely.

I’m so sorry - it’s why I’m writing this column for anyone feeling alone in what they are going thru. Losing a pet is heartbreaking- my cat is under strict orders to keep all of its 9 lives please 🙏🏻
